What Does 1A in Train Mean?
1A, or First AC class, is one of the luxurious travel classes in Indian Railways. Travelling in the First AC class is more expensive than the Second and Third AC classes. Passengers travelling on the 1A class train experience high comfort and privacy. If you travel long distances or take overnight journeys, 1A class would be your best option. This option applies to passengers who are ready to pay extra money on train tickets compared to 2A or 3A classes. The First AC class has a pair of two berths on the two sides of the aisle. The compartments with two berths are called a coup, whereas the ones with four berth seats are called cabins. Each compartment of the 1A class consists of a door. The berth of First AC class is extremely spacious and comfortable for passengers to walk around the cabin.
