What does RLWL mean in IRCTC?
RLWL stands for remote location waiting list in Indian Railways ticketing system. The RLWL status is one of the waitlists maintained by the IRCTC for railway reservations. This particular status is designed for tickets booked between intermediate stations. Passengers with RLWL status cannot board from the source station. You can board from one remote station to have a chance to secure a reservation when your quotas of specific boarding or destination points have been exhausted. Unlike the GNWL (General Waiting List), which allows you to travel from source to destination, RLWL caters to the section of the journey. When you book train tickets from one intermediate station to another, the reservation will place you under the RLWL category due to the unavailability of tickets. The chances of confirmation are when a passenger with a reservation cancels a ticket in the designated remote location. However, the chances of confirmation are less compared to GNWL status due to the remote location quota.
